Tolo Beach, literally a few steps away from Pitsakis Hotel, is a sandy beach that follows the shape of the bay to the village port. It is an excellent choice for families, swimmers and sunbathers, and even for sporty visitors with a wide range of water sports. The crystal clear, warm and shallow waters are ideal for children. The beach where Pitsakis Hotel is located is sandy with sun loungers and umbrellas for rent. Tolo has also been awarded the famous Blue Flag for its clean waters.
Kastraki beach is a secluded little bay located beyond the end of Tolo beach. It is a pebble beach surrounded by rocks. There is a bar/cafeteria in the middle of the cliff to sit and enjoy the view. The sea is again crystal clear and ideal for snorkeling. On the other side there is a small cape where the ruins of Ancient Asini are located.
The next beach along the coastline is Plaka Beach in Drepano which is only a few minutes from Tolo. It is a long straight beach, a combination of pebbles and sand. The sea is clear and there are plenty of tavernas and bars along the coast.
Arvanitia is the beach of the city of Nafplio. It is the place where locals visit for a quick dip since it is a short distance from the city center, and above it, the two castles of Nafplio dominate. The beach also has a cafe/bar that attracts people of all ages.
The largest beach in the area is Karathona Beach just outside the town of Nafplio passing through mountains to a picturesque bay, 10 minutes away from Tolo by car. The beach is quite popular (like Tolo) with Greek tourists and is well organized, with most cafes/bars offering free sunbeds with the price of a coffee. Another great alternative to Tolo during your stay at Pitsakis Hotel. Karathona also holds a Blue Flag for its clean waters.
Kondyli Beach is quite popular with younger crowds, especially during July and August. It is a large, sandy beach that offers water sports and has several cafes/bars. Another great alternative.
Vivari is a small fishing village in the middle of a sheltered bay, with fish taverns lining the beach. There are a number of coves and a main beach, which is relatively small. However, it is an ideal choice for a delicious fish lunch and a quick swim.
Iria Beach is the last beach along the coastline, located after Kandia and is a long beach with sand and pebbles. In some places there are also camping areas in the trees. A quiet place and ideal for getting away from it all.
Kantia Beach, the next beach following the coastline after Vivari, is a quiet pebble beach. The waters are crystal clear, and the fine pebbles make it great for those not in favour of sand. A great destination for families and children as well as young crowds in a couple of beach bars found in the village.
